Thanks for such supportive and useful comments.Much to some of my friends dismay..a”dog with three legs??” i brought my girl..SKY..home and she is amazing and blowing me away with her fight ..Sky is a Blue Heeler ..or Australian cattle dog . 8 .5 years old and i rescued her from the SPCA 7 years ago. She suffers with slight hip dysplacia but the worst leg has now gone…as with her pain…i hope. Shebroke her leg after playing with a pup and it was found she had cancer in the leg š but the bright side is that shes had xrays , bloods and biopsies doneĀ and nothing found..but im realistic for the future.But right now she is doing well, getting losts of rest..cuddles when she wants them…she seems to act like nothing has really happened and bounding along well on three legs..im having to slow her down…i dont want the drugs to mask anything or make her feel better than what she is.. Yes, im from down under but in New Zealand, andĀ a lovely warm part, so great for dogs to heal..not too much damp or cold to get into her bones.
glad to here sky is home and doing well!!! she needs to take it easy till all heals (like she wants to do that now that the pain is gone….). what a pretty girl, lucky to have you taking such great care of her!!! gayle.
Lots of rest and cuddles is exactly what she needs right now.
